Words can build. Words can wreck. Each one of us has the power to do either one of those with our words. God tells us that "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" (Proverbs 15:1). During this series, our students will be learning about the power that they hold and how they can use it to either bring light or darkness to others. To learn more about this series and see how you can partner with your students, then check out the Parent Cue.

We want to help students to read through the bible without getting lost or giving up. This series has a video for every book of the Bible that outlines its literary design and main ideas, showing you how it fits into the entire biblical story through illustrations.
Every other Sunday morning at 11:15 am, we meet to study one book of the Bible so our students can understand the story of the Bible without getting lost in all the "Thees" and "Thous". To learn more about the Bible Project and their ministry through videos visit their website here! |

Every Sunday, Millions of people around the world put on their Sunday best and head to church to sing a few songs, hear a message, and then head home. At the end of the day, church doesn't really seem like a place where you can ask questions. But, we all have questions. Questions about God like "is he really good?" Or about the Bible, "Can I really trust what it says?" Here's the deal though: Doubt isn't toxic to faith. Silence is. This spring we are taking questions at the Beacon. If you're in High School and you want your voice heard and your questions asked then this is the series you've been waiting for.

Remind is a great way to stay connected to the Beacon. By signing up for the Beacon you will receive text updates about upcoming events (but don't worry we promise not to blow up your phone). Most people have a hard time reading through the Bible let alone understanding all the different parts and how they fit together. Thankfully, the Bible Project has created the read scripture app. You'll find an easy interface that instantly organizes what you have to read for the day complete with an illustrated video explaining the passage.
We highly recommend it for both parents and students who want to go deeper in the Bible on a daily basis. |
There are approximately 936 weeks from the time a child is born until they grow up, graduate, and move on to whatever is next. Since your time with your kids is limited, consider counting down the weeks. Why? When you see how much time you have left, you tend to do more with the time you have now. Because what you do as a parent every week matters more than you think.
We highly recommend this app for parents who want to make the most of their time with their students. |
